SiteGround offers five main types of hosting: Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, WooCommerce hosting, Reseller Hosting and Cloud Hosting. Know the type of hosting you require.
SiteGround specializes in WordPress. For a basic or small website: StartUp for Shared hosting, WordPress Hosting or WooCommerce Hosting is fine. Shared hosting & WordPress Hosting are usually interchangeable and WooCommerce is a WordPress website with WooCommerce already installed. Reseller Hosting is for web developers so they can resell hosting. Cloud Hosting is the most expensive, generally focused towards larger companies or a website that needs to be private or super fast.
On the homepage, choose the hosting plan that best suits your needs by clicking on the "Start Now" or "See Plans" button.
SiteGround has three plans and everyone can sign for any of them. The GrowBig or GoGeek are generally if you have a very big site, want to have unlimited websites, want backups included, need premium support or if your site will be very busy:
- The StartUp plan is perfect for people with one website that are starting now.
- The GrowBig plan is a great value for money offer, including the option for multiple websites and the Ultrafast PHP that greatly improves website speed.
- The GoGeek plan is perfect for people with e-commerce and larger sites, or more geeky development needs like more server resources and GIT integration.
Next, you'll see the different hosting plans. Review the features, resources, and pricing of each plan and select the one that fits your requirements. Click on the "Get Plan" button for your preferred plan.
On the next page, you'll be prompted to choose a domain name. You can either register a new domain, transfer an existing domain, or use a domain you already own. Enter your domain name and click on the "Proceed" button.
If you just purchased a GoDaddy domain or owned one already, you would enter it here. You can use any domain name you own from any domain registry, it just needs to be pointed correctly to SiteGround. Contact me if you need help.
You will need to enter your personal information and payment details. Fill in the required fields with accurate information. Also, select billing period of 1 month, 12 months or 24 months.
Review your order summary, including the hosting plan, domain name, and billing information. Ensure that everything is correct.
Finally, click on the "Pay Now" or "Complete Order" button to finalize your purchase. SiteGround will process your payment and create your hosting account.
Once your purchase is complete, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access your SiteGround hosting account and set up your website.
